Sis. Katie Mae Petty was born October 28, 1917 to the late Matie Slayton Johnson and the late Prince Brown. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Judge Petty. She was educated by the Tuscaloosa City School System. Retire from the Pallet Company and BF Goodrich Union Hall. Sister Petty confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Elizabeth Baptist Church under the Pastorial of the late Rev. Virgil Spencer. She loved the Lord and her church and served faithfully as a member of the senior choir, cooking ministry, and a member of the Sunday school class Number 14. She relocated to Vineland, NJ. There she lived with her neice Beverly Gamble Planter. While there she was under the watch care of the Pastor Albert Morgan of the Union Baptist Temple and remain faithful until her health failed.
