Living his entire life in Tuscaloosa, he accepted Christ and Christian teaching at an early age uniting with Mount Liberty A.M.E Zion Church. He attended Liberty A.M.E Zion Church. He attended Tuscaloosa County public schools at Taylorville and completed high school at Botler High at Holt. A true lover of nature and the outdoors, he enjoyed the solitude provided while fishing, gardening, and caring for his pet animals, Sugarfoot, Butch and Precious. His spirit of kindness, and generosity made all of the children at the schools where he worked as a cafeteria helper his special friends. He was an active participant at Mt. Liberty A.M.E Zion Church serving as an usher and trustee for more than thirty years. At the end of his journey called life, he slipped quietly into that eternal and peaceful place for rest.
