Curry confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Springhill A.M.E. Church of Northport, Alabama, He later joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, under the pastorate of Rev. Myron Hamner. Curry received his education in the Tuscaloosa County School System. Curry was a very hard worker. He worked many years for Perkin's Cabinet Shop as well as Russell Lee Floor and Tile. Those that knew Curry knew that he was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, in-law, and friend. Curry was also a very humerous man who found joy in telling jokes to make others laugh.
